About us

Founded in 2011, Lyon Contracting is a minority-owned, family-run business built on loyalty, grit, and a commitment to doing right by our clients.

Guided by the belief Pa’lante (Always forward) — Building What Matters, we build more than structures — we build legacy. From affordable housing to schools to community developments, we partner with developers, nonprofits, and institutions who want more than a contractor — they want a team invested in their people and their impact.

Mission

At Lyon Contracting, our mission is to build what matters most — spaces that serve, strengthen, and uplift communities. With integrity, excellence, and care, we deliver quality construction while forging lasting partnerships and empowering our team. Every project is an opportunity to build trust, transform neighborhoods, and shape a stronger future.

Vision

We envision a future where construction strengthens stories, not just skylines. As a minority-owned, family-led contractor, we’re building a legacy of impact by being the partner of choice for social impact developers across Greater Philadelphia. We’re growing a team that leads with purpose, crafts with care, and carries forward a standard of excellence that transforms lives — one project, one block, one generation at a time.

President & Founder

Daniel Labrador

Daniel Labrador, a Philadelphia native, has worked in construction since 1997 and founded Lyon Contracting Services in 2011. As the son of Cuban immigrants, he built the company on hard work, opportunity, and the belief that construction should leave a lasting impact.

Under his leadership, Lyon has partnered with local universities, community development corporations, faith-based organizations, and social impact developers to deliver projects that strengthen neighborhoods across the region. Dan has been recognized for his business leadership and community focus, including graduating from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program (2018) and receiving the Philadelphia Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Award from Mayor Jim Kenney and the Office of Economic Opportunity (2019).

Dan’s approach reflects Lyon’s culture — building with integrity, investing in people, and creating opportunities for the next generation. His work continues to position Lyon as a trusted, minority-owned contractor.

That same year, Niko was honored during Philadelphia Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week by Mayor Jim Kenney and the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) for his contributions to advancing opportunities for the local minority labor workforce. He studied Construction Management at Temple University and continues to bring both technical knowledge and people-centered leadership to his role.
